The coin-op basketball game has become a standard in FECs, but the king of basketball games, insists Sega, is the ICE NBA Hoops.

Officially ratified by the NBA and licensed, the game – distributed by Sega – has the ability to make players feel like a pro basketball star.
“It has an impressive cabinet size that puts some distance between the player and the high hoop, just as one would expect on the court,” said Justin Burke, the Sega sales chief. “There is an instant sense of challenge and the excitement presented by the cabinet. The game features attractive multi-coloured LED lighting, basketball court wood effect ramp, real sport basketballs and sound effects, giving a sense of being at the big game. It is available in various NBA team brands and can be linked up to 10 units.”
The company is also handling NBA Game Time, a mid-sized game for locations with less room. This also has the latest technology, with LED lighting and slam dunk sound effects. It has a moving hoop that adds a fun twist to the game. The smallest version is NBA Hoop Troop, a small, low-level playfield cabinet makes it ideal for kids. They have 30 seconds to score as many hoops as possible with a small, soft basketball.
“We’ve been selling ICE’s NBA range for years across the world,” said Burke. “We get lots of positive comments from operators happy with their decision years after taking delivery.”
