Most of the satellite locations that are expected to close are also in the Outer Harbour Reclamation Zone or the Outer Harbour New Land Reclamation area.

Government representatives included the Office of the Secretary for Economy and Finance, the Macao Government Tourism Office and the Economic and Technological Development Bureau.

Macao Government Tourism Office director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes said the government is committed to the area and plans to introduce initiatives to drive visitation to those affected by closures.

The Economic and Technological Development Bureau has also visited with over 300 local businesses in the zone as a way to address satellite casino-related concerns.

Local businesses are still experiencing consistent visitation levels despite changes in consumer spending habits, according to the Industrial Development Department head Lau Kit Lon.

Elsewhere, visitation to satellite casinos remains high despite the expected shutdowns, according to a check from GGRAsia.
