Riera and Carreras, a new consultancy set up by industry executives Jaime Riera and Josep Carreras last year, is to be closely involved with the Gran Scala development in Spain.
The new organisation was designed to assist companies in entering the Spanish market in three sectors: casinos, coin-operated amusements and theme parks.
"We have had assignments to sell arcades, to help buy casinos and to advise on any of the 17 different sets of legislation which affect entry into the Spanish market," said Riera.
The feather in the company’s cap has come with the appointment of International Leisure Development, which is advising on the huge new Gran Scala project in Spain.
Riera commented: "We have been closely involved in the planning of the scheme. It is a massive project but fits our expertise exactly. Our experience is all about contacts and knowing the market; that is why we have been brought into it."
