August 2 has been set as the opening date for City of Dreams Sri Lanka, South Asia’s first luxury gaming-led destination.

The US$1.2bn integrated resort was developed by Melco Resorts and John Keells Holdings. It comprises a casino, premium shopping mall and the Nüwa hotel.
“The opening of the casino and Nüwa hotel operated by Melco marks the realisation of a key pillar of City of Dreams Sri Lanka, bringing to fruition the integrated development that was envisioned over a decade ago,” said JKH group chairperson Krishan Balendra, according to the Daily Mirror.
“This milestone sets a new benchmark in South Asia for world-class lifestyle, entertainment and retail offerings.”
