Italian casino equipment manufacturer Abbiati revealed some new RFID developments at ICE.

In conjunction with PGI, which supplies the readers and antennae, the Abbiati system can now be used for poker. “With our system, pot calculation can be done on the table,” said the company’s Terry Clarke.

“There are three pots and each separate pot can have a different percentage, which is good because different casinos have different ways of playing.”

A reader in the table verifies the chips and gives the pot a value instantaneously. The 135.6Khz system can read 1,000 chips in a second. “All this information links back to management,” said Clarke.
