The introduction of the PPM Advance represents the next generation of support tools for MEI products.
Software management and performance monitoring have never been easier, further lowering cost of ownership associated with SC Advance.
“MEI recognises that quality service is just as important as high-performance products,” said MEI senior vice president - Americas, Eric Fisher. “The PPM Advance provides new functionality to technicians. And, as a result, it makes MEI a better partner in the continuous battle to reduce the overall cost of operations.
“Enhancements to the PPM were made because we wanted to make a great product even better. That was accomplished with a willingness to develop and implement new technology and an awareness of the payback required to obtain capital in the current economic environment.”
Whereas the PPM (portable programming module) was a one button flash tool, the PPM Advance is a portable version of MEI’s STS (support and test systems) software. The PPM Advance features a display screen and menu navigation buttons to allow operators to perform fast and easy in-field updates for currency data, configuration data and software, performance diagnostics and audit data reporting.
PPM Advance delivers value through new-found customisation. Increased memory to store multiple variant firmware, along with the ability to function under multiple languages, make the PPM Advance a more powerful tool. Operators will also have the ability to label firmware for individual needs, which, as an example, could be used for OEM-specific identification.
Additionally, the PPM Advance can be configured to offer an upgrade to Bluetooth functionality with phones and tablets on the Android platform. Operators will now be able to remotely download software from their secured internet/intranet locations as well as add EASITRAX Soft Count asset numbers.
