Representatives of Merkur UK, Scientific Games, Novomatic, Inspired Entertainment, OKTO, Game Nation, Entain, Moto Hospitality, Welcome Break, Roadchef and Extra are all on the Influential Board, as it has been named.

Between them the board represents over 60 per cent of UK adult gaming centres and 100 per cent of motorway service areas, all of the machines in the licensed betting offices and 75 per cent of sited Category C (AWP) and the higher payouts Category B gaming equipment.

Peter Hannibal (pictured), CEO of GBG, said: “There is no doubt that this board is among the most influential groups in UK land-based gaming. These are the brands that are investing in the UK high street and helping it to respond to the huge challenges that we are facing post-Covid.”

He said that the board is in the process of finalising the detail of its strategic plan for high street gaming that will shortly be unveiled.
