The Gauselmann Group has expanded its Merkur Casino presence in Spain with the opening of a new property in Malaga.

Merkur Salon de Juego offers 70 playing positions over 800sq.m and includes two multi-position roulette tables, as well as new jackpot equipment. The new venue will be closely aligned to the company’s Merkur Gaming brand and will provide a platform for the launch of its latest products.

“The Spanish market gives us all the opportunities necessary to use our unique all-round competencies as a gamemaker family efficiently,” said Rolf Falke, managing director of Merkur Casino.

Before opening in Malaga, Merkur Casino was solely present in the city of Granada. Isabel Roman Garcia, country manager in Spain, said that the Spanish market has significant potential for the future of gaming.

“The positive legal situation in the autonomous region of Andalusia particularly offers incentives for further investment,” she said.
