The Star Entertainment Group has appointed Steve McCann as its new group CEO and managing director.
Subject to regulatory approvals, he will take up his responsibilities on July 8.
McCann has worked most recently as CEO and MD at Crown Resorts. Prior to that, he spent more than a decade serving as Group CEO of real estate development and investment group, Lendlease Corporation.
“Given his time with Crown, and previous long-standing leadership at Lendlease, he has the right credentials to lead The Star’s remediation programme,” said chairman of The Star, Anne Ward.
“His track record reflects his capability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and lead meaningful transformational change and cultural renewal. This experience will be invaluable as we work towards rebuilding trust and expediting the sustainable transformation of The Star.”
