In the US, Bally Technologies is to provide its i-gaming platform to Mohegan Sun’s casinos in Uncasville, Connecticut, and Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
This adds to the growing portfolio of online gaming sites the company develops for casino operators. The agreement will enable Mohegan Sun to offer play-for-free online poker in Connecticut and Pennsylvania in preparation for online wagering regulation. Mohegan Sun selected Bally Interactive following a six-month review process.
“We’re thrilled to continue our successful partnership with Bally Technologies,” said Mitchell Etess, CEO of the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority.
“Our goal is always to provide our guests with the best gaming and entertainment offerings and we believe i-gaming is the next step in fulfilling the demand for regulated online play when customers aren’t able to be at the property. Further, we believe this exciting new offering will entice new players to visit our properties and experience all that we have to offer.”
Bally’s i-gaming platform offers casino operators a number of benefits. The platform’s open architecture enables operators to choose from best-in-class content from a multitude of providers. Additionally, content is hosted, limiting the infrastructure required.
The i-gaming platform is also designed for mobile integration and is ready to accommodate online gaming beyond poker, such as casino table games, video slots, sports betting and social.
Earlier this year, Bally became the first company licensed in the US as an interactive gaming system manufacturer and service provider.
“We are proud of our long-term strategic partnership with Mohegan Sun,” said Bally Technologies’ CEO Richard Haddrill. “This partnership will demonstrate the advantages of having an open i-gaming platform, which allows for best-in-class content.”
