The first phase of Mohegan Sun's ambitious US$925m Project Horizon expansion in Uncasville, Connecticut, US, has been completed.
Casino of the Wind features 45,000sq.ft of gaming space including a 42-table poker room, more than 650 slot machines and 28 table games, in addition to restaurants and eateries.
The new facility, which broke ground in June 2007, will officially open on August 29, and a month-long celebration featuring a poker tournament and daily giveaways is planned for October.
Owned by the Mohegan Tribe, Mohegan Sun’s Project Horizon expansion calls for a new 920-room hotel and additional retail and restaurant space. Upon full completion in 2010, Project Horizon is expected to add more than 1.4 million sq.ft to Mohegan Sun’s existing structure.
