Intralot has reported an increase in both revenue and profits for 2007, as the Greek betting systems firm continues to win new projects and licences.

The world’s second-largest lottery systems supplier said net profit increased 7.4 per cent to €112.3m, in line with market expectations. Revenue for the Athens-based group rose 5.6 per cent to €835.5m.

Intralot, which operates in 40 countries, said it was pleased with its eastern European operations. The company started running sports betting in Italy and the national lottery in South Africa last year.

Commenting on the results, Intralot CEO Constantinos Antonopoulos said: "2007 was a successful year…since the company significantly strengthened its leading position in the global gaming sector with the addition of important projects in its portfolio."

In February this year, Intralot’s Turkish subsidiary, Inteltek, signed a contract with the country’s state-owned Spor Toto company to continue the operation of the popular sports betting game Iddaa for up to one year.
