Germany's 70-plus casinos are thought to have experienced a 20-30 per cent drop in revenue since January 1, due primarily to the smoking ban and fresh entrance controls which have been imposed on the separate slots rooms.

There are 8,000 slot machines in the German casinos with a 20 per cent annual replacement market.
