Despite the precarious position of the Spanish economy, Fournier, one of its leading gaming companies, has enjoyed a terrific year.

At G2E, the playing card company’s Javier Berasategui told InterGaming that success internationally saw the business grow significantly in the 12 months to September. “It’s been a phenomenal year,” he said. “Although we’re suffering domestically, we have been able to balance that with our successes in the international market.”

Much of this success, Berasategui said, has been down to the fact that the company has focused on its core line of card products for which it has earned a strong reputation for consistency and accuracy. Manufacturing playing cards, he added, is not that difficult but achieving the level of quality its customers expect when producing hundreds of millions of decks is the key.
