Casinos Austria International today launches its newest casino in South America.

Situated in the capital of Bio-Bio province in southern Chile, Gran Casino Los Angeles opens today with an official ceremony and cocktail reception attended by local dignitaries, representatives of the gaming authorities and invited guests.

"We are very excited about our new casino," said Gabriel Benvenuto, general manager of Gran Casino Los Angeles. "The interior has been inspired by the amazing natural surroundings around Los Angeles."

The casino has 12 gaming tables (four American roulette, two Caribbean Poker, two blackjack, one punto banco and one mini craps), 200 slot machines and a 40-seat bingo room. Additional guest facilities include a bar and restaurant.

Over 100 new jobs have been created and the casino will be an important new tourist attraction for the area. Benvenuto said: "Our dedicated team of local employees has been extensively trained."

The complex will also feature a five-star hotel with 90 guest rooms, spa facilities and a conference centre for up to 500 people, which is due to open at the end of the year.

The culmination of over a year of intensive preparations, the new casino takes CAI further south than ever before. The Vienna-based casino development and management company was awarded the licence to develop and operate a casino in Los Angeles in July 2006.
