Officials of Canada's Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority have signed a memorandum of understanding to manage one, and maybe two, casinos on Penghu Island in Taiwan.

The new president of Taiwan has looked favourably on plans to launch several casinos on the island and a las Vegas consortium has already signed up to run one of them.

SIGA runs five casinos in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan, with a sixth to open later this year.
