Aristocrat Leisure is understood to have taken a stake in the Gran Scala development which is due to be built in a desert area of Aragon in Spain, north-east of Madrid.
The huge planned complex will include shopping, residential developments, hotels, 32 casinos, five theme parks, family entertainment centres, golf course, museums, racecourse and other entertainments.
The entire project, which is being masterminded by the Aragon Government, will cost €17bn, will attract 25 million visitors each year and will create 60,000 jobs. Novomatic is thought to have already taken one of the casinos.
