What’s on the cards for casino decks and shufflers?

For all the gadgets and high-tech products that feature in today’s casinos, their most ubiquitous piece of equipment is the simple deck of cards.
A deck of cards, of course, has to meet a much higher standard of quality to be considered casino-quality. While a deck that most people might have in their living room drawers might be made from card stock, thin cardboard or a cotton-paper blend with a thin plastic coating, casino cards are generally 100 per cent plastic with a glossy finish. Not only does this make them easier to handle on the gaming floor, it also helps to prevent them being marked through wear and tear.
