Michael Lawton, senior research analyst for the state’s Gaming Control Board, said the month proved to be an “easy comp,” pointing out that gaming revenues in March 2012 were off by 10.8 per cent. Baccarat accounted for $35m of the $60m increase, he said.

Las Vegas Strip casinos, meanwhile, posted a 13.3 per cent increase in revenue. For the first nine months of the fiscal year, casinos statewide reported gaming revenues of $8.3bn, up 2.7 per cent. Downtown Las Vegas gaming revenues were up by 5.3 per cent.
