Is casino operator London Clubs International up for sale? That was the suggestion by a major UK newspaper at the weekend.

This is Money, part of the Daily Mail group, reported that LCI, which is owned by Caesars Entertainment, is understood to have enlisted the services of Goldman Sachs to advise on a potential sale.

LCI operates 13 casinos, including London's Empire Casino and Playboy Club properties, and is among the largest casino groups in the country.

The speculation follows the news that talks between the Rank Group and Gala Coral over the possible sale of the latter's casino property portfolio fell through.

London Clubs International was unavailable for comment.
