Gaming platform solutions provider Quixant is celebrating its 10th year in the gaming industry this year.
“Over those 10 years the requirements for technology have changed and we have adapted to meet them,” said the company’s Jon Jayal at last week's ICE show in London. “The introduction of PC technology in gaming did away with the need for embedded platforms.
“We have gone from an unheard of company in the gaming industry to one that can now provide manufacturers with a complete platform solution so that they don’t have to bear the costs of doing that in-house.”
Also, the firm’s solid relationship with chip provider AMD has been valuable. Quixant, which is dedicated solely to the gaming industry, gets to use the latest AMD chips before anyone else. “AMD give us second-to-none support,” said Jayal.
Product-wise, the company was showing its new QX-50 as well as the 306 and 307 low-end products at ICE. “We now have a selection of price points, giving manufacturers the widest possible choice. Also, small customers are just as valuable to us as big ones.”
Having taken on eight new people during 2014, the company now has over 70 employees. It has offices in Italy, Taiwan and the US, as well as the UK, and now also has warehousing facilities in the US.
