Amaya Gaming Group has announced the official launch of the first National Lottery of Moldova.

Branded as Milioane Pentru Moldova, the lottery was officially launched on February 15 at the Palace of the Republic. The lottery is based on SMS technology, enabling anyone with a mobile device to participate from yesterday.

"The National Lottery of Moldova aims to provide for all lottery players equal opportunity to win, and also, to bring benefits to the state budget, which will be directed towards education, health, sports, and culture areas. We want to follow the good examples from other experienced countries in this field and promote transparency and fair play," said Victor Barbneagr, vice-minister of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Moldova.

The group was last year awarded an exclusive, 20-year contract with the National Lottery of Moldova to provide a range of national gaming solutions including lottery, video lottery terminals, sports betting, and digital gaming. The Milioane Pentru Moldova lottery is the first of these initiatives to launch and Amaya expects to continue to implement additional gaming solutions in the country this year.
