Realistic Games and Paddy Power have embedded blackjack and roulette into the operator’s new sports book app for iPad, allowing users to switch between betting slip and table games without having to transfer money or leave the sportsbook.

Andy Harris, commercial director for Realistic Games, said the company had worked closely with the Irish operator to adhere to a tight development schedule ahead of the Grand National.

“We’ve felt for a while that embedding games in iPad sportsbooks, and blackjack and roulette in particular because of their resonance with sports customers, was an idea with great potential,” said Harris.

“We knew that some of those customers are not always keen to migrate between betting and gaming sites and are often put off by having to move their money to other wallets. This solution negates both issues.”

He continued: “The team at Paddy Power shared our enthusiasm about the idea so we created a prototype and agreed to push hard with the development.

“We’re both delighted with the outcome and hope it provides Paddy Power with a big cross-sell boost for major forthcoming events like the Grand National and World Cup.”
