Zynga Inc said it expects a full-year profit after reporting better-than-expected third-quarter results.

The increase highlights a 50 per cent over the year to date, despite a year-on-year 36 per cent drop in revenues for the third quarter to $202.5m and a 46 per cent slump in paying players to 1.6 million.
It is the first period under the leadership of Don Mattrick, the former head of gaming at Electronic Arts, since his appointment as Zynga's chief executive in July.
He said: "We are encoured to see the sightlines to growth and expect to be profitable for the full year on an adjusted EBITDA basis.
"Our teams are working hard to compete more aggressively on the web, move to mobile and develop new hits, and I am happy with the early progress we have made."
