Total sports betting revenue in Vermont, US, climbed in July compared with June’s figures, but there was a decline compared to May.

Revenue of US$1.15m in July was 24.7 per cent up on June’s $922,968 but could not top May’s $1.2m, which translated to a drop of 3.8 per cent.

The July revenue came from handle of $9.5m, which was down 5.8 per cent from June’s $10m and down 24.9 per cent from May.

Total sports betting taxes in Vermont, the state’s Department for Liquor and Lottery said, reached $366,664 in July, up 24.4 per cent from June’s $294,847, but fell 4.1 per cent from May’s $382,430.

The Vermont regulator, which is still in the relatively early days of monitoring a market which opened to mobile sports betting in mid-January, also records the number of bets from registered in-state users – and those who crossed the border into Vermont to place a bet.

In-state bets in Vermont in July were worth $5.9m,  down 21.1 per cent on June’s $7.5m and even further down in comparison with May’s $9.9m.
