Titan Poker has become the latest company to be granted a licence to operate in France.

Having gained approval from France’s Regulatory Authority of Online Games, Titan can now offer poker on its French domain, which will allow the company to compete for a share of a market estimated to be the second largest in continental Europe.

The site is offering generous bonuses to welcome new players, as well as a series of promotions to encourage existing French players registered with its international site to the new French site version.

Despite more licences being granted in France, critics still argue that the tax levied by French regulator ARJEL is still too high to make the country fully open to overseas operators and that freedom of choice for French poker players is still not as wide as it could be.
