The Swedish Gambling Authority expects the country’s new gambling regulation to be approved from, at the earliest, July 5.
The new Gambling Act was approved by the Riksdag – Sweden’s parliament – earlier this month, with a new licensing system in force from January 1, 2019.
The Authority has reported “great interest” in the re-regulation of the market, including from international operators.
According to the plan, licence applications will be possible from August 1, while the Authority’s regulations and guidelines should be pre-published on the website after July 24.
