YouGov surveyed over 2,000 US sports bettors between January 5-18 this year, with 71 per cent actively betting and the remaining 29 per cent considering wagering.

Jeff Morris, VP at YouGov, noted how the survey also found that sportsbooks that incorporate “key in-app features” such as streaming sports events can “provide an advantage for driving interaction from sports bettors and attracting prospective sports bettors.”

Indeed, 71 per cent of 25-44 year-olds said the ability to watch sports events while having being able to bet was important to them – versus 65 per cent for all ages.

Furthermore, 67 per cent of 21-24 year-old current and prospective bettors are likely to create a sportsbook account with a sportsbook that is associate with a streaming service. This rings true for 57 per cent of all other ages, the survey said.

The survey revealed that 51 per cent of sports bettors are using ESPN Bet more than they used to, with 15 per cent using it less.

The US sports betting industry is a very competitive marketplace and maintaining loyalty from customers has proven to be difficult for sportsbooks, especially when new sportsbooks enter the market,” Morris added.

YouGov’s research revealed that 73 per cent of sports bettors used more than one sportsbook ap last month, while less than half (43 per cent), used more than three.
