The latter will provide data from international sports events via its RunningBall brand, allowing the former to provide odds services to its B2B clients and own brands through the new GIG Sports service.

GIG Sports will launch ahead of the FIFA World Cup and consists of a product portfolio containing aggregated and in-house generated odds and data services, trading and risk management platform, business intelligence and marketing platform as well as mobile first front-end technology. All services can be sold standalone or as a turnkey solution and will be fully integrated with GIGs platform services.

Perform collects, produces, packages and distributes data, editorial and video for professional sports competitions globally. As part of the deal, it has taken over a network of scouts in Norway from GIG, all of whom have been fully vetted and assessed against RunningBall's standards and engaged directly by RunningBall to bolster official coverage significantly.

GIG CEO Robin Reed said: "In GIG Sports, we will use data to disrupt the world of sports betting. Perform Group is the market leader on sports data and the deal will enable us to deliver data-driven odds and services for our B2B clients with an efficiency that is unrivalled in sports betting today. Development is well under way and we are looking forward to launching our offering ahead of the FIFA World Cup in 2018.”
