Total gaming revenue in New Jersey in January grew by 28 per cent year-on-year to US$559.1m, up from $436.9m a year ago.

Casino win dropped 3.1 per cent from $211.7m to $205m, but a 136.1 per cent jump in sports betting revenue to $170.8m – up from $72.3m in January 2023 – helped steer the overall growth.

Igaming gross win followed suit with sports betting, rising 19.9 per cent to $183.3m.

Total sports betting handle in New Jersey in January hit $1.72bn, with online bets accounting for $1.67bn of the total.

In Kansas, sports betting revenue jumped by 58.2 per cent year-on-year in January, rising from $6m to $14.3m. Online sports betting accounted for $13.7m of the total.

Subsequent tax collection also climbed from $598,745 to $1.4m.

Massachusetts also recorded growth in gross gaming revenue in January to $164.7m, up from $163.6m.

However, total taxes in the Bay State dropped month-on-month to $40.4m, down from $41.1m.
