Sports betting revenue growth in May of 33.4 per cent in New Jersey helped the Garden State post a 9.4 per cent year-on-year increase in total gaming revenue for the month.

Sports wagering revenue climbed from US$61.6m last May to $82.2m this year, the Division of Gaming Enforcement reported.

Igaming revenue in New Jersey also showed strong growth of 18.7 per cent in May to $161.4m, up from $136m a year ago.

However, land-based casino win for the nine casino hotel properties in the state dropped 2.4 per cent year-on-year to $227.3m, down from $233m in May 2022.

The overall gaming revenue in New Jersey for May subsequently climbed to $470.9m, rising from $430.6m last May.
