Sports betting in the US state of New Jersey was boosted last month by the advent of a new NFL season.

Figures released by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement showed that close to US$184m was bet on sports in the Garden State in September, almost double the figure of $96m in August.

The total spend for sports betting in New Jersey, since the market opened up in June, amounts to over $336m in bets.

Last week, Hard Rock International signed a letter of intent with GiG for an omni-channel sportsbook platform at its Hard Rock Atlantic City casino.
