Spread betting firm Sporting Index has launched Election2010 Zone, a mini-site dedicated to election-focused markets.

The website sub-section contains a range of markets that allow the public to challenge predictions such as the number of seats each party will win and which parties will claim each constituency. The site also features a live blog from Sporting Index’s politics trader Zak Taylor, links to some of the best other political blogs on the web such as PoliticalBetting.com and a countdown to election day.

"We’ve seen more interest in our political markets in the last few weeks than ever before," comments Zak Taylor, Sporting Index politics trader. "In the past we’ve only ever created dedicated sections of the website for major sporting events such as the World Cup or the Ashes, so this shows just how popular betting on the election and politics in general has become."
