Sportech has signed an agreement with Phumelela Gold International, a South African pools, tote and horseracing company, to allow customers of both companies to bet on each other's football pools products.
Expected to be fully operational in August 2011 for the start of the next UK football season, the agreement enables customers of both businesses (in the UK and South Africa) to bet across a range of products.
This comes after continued modernisation of Sportech’s Football Pools technology and product range, which has already seen distribution partnerships with major UK bookmaking operators including Ladbrokes across their retail estate and online website.
Ian Penrose, chief executive of Sportech, commented: "This important agreement with Phumelela allows us to extend our UK football pools product range into South Africa and further internationalise our customer base."
