Spain’s Ministry of Finance announced yesterday that the country’s long-awaited online gaming regulatory regime will come into force on June 1.
The Ministry added that the General Directorate of Gaming will publish relevant resolutions on its website and communicate licence approval to applicants on June 1, with penalties against active and unlicensed operators also coming into force the same day.
Regulation of the market was due in January, but it was postponed by the government at the end of last year.
