For payments specialist Skrill, this year’s ICE marks the start of what the company hopes will be an exciting year.

Vice president of marketing Wouter Sleijffers said that the move to ExCeL has been a “happy” once.

“We’ve been exhibiting at ICE for three years now and this for us is our biggest show ever,” he said.

Skrill’s stand naturally carries the company’s branding – as do the cans of energy drinks being handed out to visitors in need of a pick-me-up.

“ICE is always important to us but this year even more so because we’re still completing the re-brand,” explained Sleijffers. “It’s actually the first time we’re here as Skrill, without any reference to Moneybookers.

“For us, this year will be important and the main message for us here is that we will be launching a lot of new products this year, many over the next few months.”

One of the first things the company is starting with is the roll out of its new payments gateway.

“It’s an exciting time for us,” added Sleijffers. “It’s going to be an exciting year and we’ve made a very good start at ICE.”
