Attendees at this year's G2E will see server-based gaming as a key trend for 2009 and 2010.

According to BetStone, casino managers will increase adoption of this technology to streamline their operations to respond and address the challenges for the current environment.

Delegates will be looking for new cost effective strategies and methods to address both increased competition and the current challenging economic climate. In particular, they will want to see what practical technology solutions exist that can be easily implemented to deliver immediate results.

"Server-based gaming will be a big talking point," said Avron Goss, director at BetStone. "Because it is a proven technology with the ability to deliver both on games and benefits, delegates will see it as something that they can implement and manage for themselves to deliver high demand games and tangible business benefits."

Markets like South America and Italy have now sought to extend lessons learned in Las Vegas by adapting new technology to gain a competitive advantage. One technology in particular has seen greater uptake - server-based gaming.

"G2E will see a lot of delegates from other markets, with an understanding of server based technologies," said Marzia Turrini, head of business development in Latin america for BetStone. "They have seen the ability of server-based gaming to adapt quickly to players’ demands with the latest games and will now be interested in seeing how this solution can extend to drive revenues further."
