UK-based igaming operator Paddy Power Betfair is to withdraw the Paddy Power online gaming brand from Italy, a move attributed to the 2016 merger between the two brands.
The PaddyPower.it site will close in December while the group will continue to have a presence in Italy via the Betfair Italia brand.
Italy-based customers of Paddy Power will receive further information in the build-up to the closure of PaddyPower.it.
The move also comes amid reports of tax hikes for online operators in the country.
