Regulated gaming companies in Sweden generated SEK6.6bn in total turnover in the first quarter of 2023.

The regulator Spelinspektionen said the figure has not changed year-on-year, although it represents a drop on the Q4 2022 figure of SEK7.3bn.

Igaming pulled in the most turnover at SEK4.2bn, a drop from the SEK4.4bn generated in Q4 last year but stable year-on-year.

State lottery and slot games was the second-most productive sector in Sweden in Q1, making SEK1.4bn in turnover.

Land-based gambling, meanwhile, recorded SEK47m in turnover, an increase year-on-year from SEK42m but a drop from Q4’s SEK58m.
