Betfair has extended its relationship with OpenBet for the provision of its sportsbook software.
Betfair has chosen OpenBet’s sportsbook technology to support the launch of its fixed odds gaming platform. For the first time, the sports betting provider will be offering fixed odds prices on its exchange markets.
OpenBet is providing the underlying sportsbook technology that will allow Betfair to offer its customers a fixed odds betting alternative to the existing exchange for the first time. The new fixed odds betting capability will allow Betfair to compete on the minority of markets where it has historically been less competitive.
Ian Chuter, group operations director of Betfair, said: "Our next-generation sports product will complement our exchange and enable us to offer competitive prices on markets that previously we were unable to offer or were only very illiquid.”
