Greek betting monopoly OPAP has shortlisted three companies as it looks to expand into online betting.

GTECH, Playtech and Intralot have all been shortlisted to assist OPAP, which controls the Greek lottery, with its online venture.

OPAP CEO Yannis Spanoudakis told reporters last week that the company is in the "final phase" to pick a vendor and that it aims to make a decision in the third quarter.

The expansion into online betting is expected to boost business for OPAP, which last week reported a 21 per cent drop in quarterly net profit.
