Online gambling is thriving in the US state of New Jersey, with a 65.64 per cent increase in March to $64.822m, a record month.

Online poker leapt by more than 90 per cent. The figures, says the Fantini Gaming Report, are a result of the state’s gamblers being locked out of casinos and turning to their computers.
The report notes, however, that overall gaming revenue was down 44.39 per cent because of the lockdown of casinos that began on March 16. The average daily revenue was down 25.6 per cent for the 16 days of that month that the casinos were open.
