Payment technology company Nuvei is happy with its fourth quarter results in "an exceptional year," said CEO Philip Fayer (pictured).

Revenue increased 83 per cent in the quarter and 93 per cent for the full year. Volume was up 127 per cent to US$31.5bn in the quarter and 121 percent to $95.6bn for the year.

Among the details from the company is the information that Nuvei is preparing for the launch of regulated online gaming and sports betting in the Canadian province of Ontario on April 4 of this year. With local acquiring services, connectivity to all local APMs, including Interac and a full stack payout solution, Nuvei is well positioned, said Fayer, to support licensed operators in the province.

For the full year, revenue from regulated online gaming reached $180.8m against $93.5m in 2020. It was by far the largest single sector of revenue for the group.
