After achieving accreditations in Malta and Alderney, NMi has now announced that it is one of the first test facilities to be approved by AAMS for igaming certifications in Italy.
As an \‘Authorised Verification Body’, NMi is now undertaking homologations for online gaming systems in Italy.
The decree on online gaming regulation in Italy was published in the Official Italian Gazette on March 23 and on May 21, NMi was the first to sign the Convenzione to provide igaming compliance testing services.
The decree defines the various online games that are subject to regulation, including skill games, card games, dice games and virtual slots. A Ministerial Memorandum issued on May 12 specifies that the first types of online games to be approved will include multiplayer poker and other card games, due to the high demand for cash poker in the Italian online market.
NMi is on target to achieve accreditations in all of the major igaming markets worldwide by the end of the year.
