The Swedish government has introduced a Memorandum looking to change the law and improve work around match-fixing.

The proposal, which is scheduled to come into force at the start of December, will give licensed betting companies the right to process and exchange information about suspected match-fixing.
The Swedish government said: “During the preparation of the departmental memorandum's proposals, a need for a review of certain licensees' abilities to process personal data related to legal violations involving crimes was identified.
“This pertains to licensees with a license for betting under Chapter 8 of the Gambling Act (2018:1138). This memorandum addresses the question of these licensees' right to process such information within the framework of efforts against match-fixing.”
