All igaming licence holders in the Netherlands have been told to cease offering cashback bonuses by the regulator.

Kansspelautoriteit

The Kansspelautoriteit has made it clear to operators that the bonuses are not permitted because they can encourage players to stake beyond their means.

The KSA said: “Bonuses are classified as advertising activity. According to the law, advertisements may not encourage immoderate gaming behaviour. In the opinion of the KSA, this is the case with cashback bonuses.

“If online providers do not immediately stop providing cashback bonuses, they risk enforcement action by the KSA.”
