It has been reported that the past week has seen another six online gambling accounts seized by the US Government, adding to a spate of seizures that have taken place in the past couple of months.
The latest seizures of accounts thought to be used for illegal online gambling came from the Wachovia Bank, Bank of America, First Premier Bank and Interstate Net Bank. The accounts have been frozen pending an investigation.
The government is currently operating under the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act passed in 2006, which aimed at making online gambling illegal. Many people have criticised the current policy for being too vague and easily open to exploitation by both sides.
