Mississippi has moved one step closer to joining the list of US states offering regulated mobile sports betting after a bill moved through the state’s Legislature.

As reported by the Associated Press, the bill, called the Mississippi Mobile Sports Wagering Act, was advanced by the Mississippi House committee on Tuesday.
There are concerns over the black market in Mississippi, with mobile sports wagering not yet joining its retail counterpart in being legalised there due to fears of its impact on land-based revenue.
Republican Rep. Casey Eure, who is sponsoring the bill, said: “Once you legalise mobile sports betting, you do away with a lot of that illegal market.”
