Ladbrokes launched its iPhone web app for sports betting last week.

Offering a complete betting service, Ladbrokes’ comprehensive range of betting markets are all accessible via the iPhone App, including its extensive range of betting in play markets.

This year, Ladbrokes has seen more than 25,000 active customers on its existing mobile services, an increase of more than 50 per cent compared with 2008. Turnover on its mobile services is predicted to be up by 60 per cent over the full year.

The new sports betting web app has been developed by Mfuse and benefits of the new service include the ability to check the latest odds in real time, view all the latest results, full account management and bet in play.

Ladbrokes MD remote gaming, John O’Reilly, said: "Mobile betting and gaming will be a key driver of growth in the sector in the next few years. The Ladbrokes iPhone application is another step forward in making mobile betting and gaming easier to access."

According to Apple, there are more than 1.5 million iPhone and iPod Touch users in the UK. Originally exclusive to O2 in the UK, the phone has been available via other networks since November. Tesco has also announced it will begin selling iPhones this week.
