The Netherlands’ gambling authority has stepped up its efforts to sanction operator Gammix for illegally offering content to Dutch customers.

The case against the Maltese operator began in June last year, when the Kansspelautoriteit told Gammix it intended to penalise the operator €1.47m per week, with a maximum penalty of €4.4m.
An alleged offender is given chance to clear its name without sanction, but the KSA says that “after several checks,” it was “still possible” to play with the operator in the Nertherlands and create an account.
As such, the maximum penalty payment of €4.4m has now been imposed on Gammix, which can still challenge the collection decision.
René Jansen, chairman of the KSA, noted the “violation has not completely ceased, so we take the next step.”
“We do not want an order subject to periodic penalty payments to be ignored, because that would make the remedy less effective,” he added.
“Anyone who violates and continues to continue must pay. It's that simple.”
